Responsibilities included development and the management of the Speakers Bureau raising our engagements to 127 annually, the District’s Web Site driving visitor rates from 2,800 to over 135,000 per month, Park Permits Department for the District’s 16 Parks, the San Diego International Airport after hours public relations for San Diego International Airport, $1m+ in Fee For Service Contract management, Special Event planning and developed and managed the Community Services Department which included Customer Service, Tenant Conflict Resolution, and Business Development. Other responsibilities included: mentor, training, staffing, salary and promotion review, contracts, contractor coordination, accessibility compliance, Airport Noise Review Panel, Airport Master Plan Community Outreach, PIO for BioCom 2001, Event Coordinator for San Diego Bay Powerboat Races, Why I Love The Bay Sweepstakes and Amphibious Tours.

In September of 2000, our District web page won “Best in Class” in the P.R.S.A., Public Relations Society of America Annual Awards in October, 2000, we won the “Best Web Site in the Western Hemisphere” by A.A.P.A., American Association of Port Authorities.

I was responsible for the development of more than 25 domestic sales offices and three offices abroad. In addition, I held ultimate P&L responsibilities and successfully accomplished three separate private placements.

Developed artificial an intelligent computer system for Quality Assurance / Trend Analysis / Performance Measurement for the United States Department of Energy, Hanford Nuclear Reservation for the tracking of production, purification, fabrication, and storage of Plutonium, Uranium and Tritium for electrical generation and National Defense.

Managed two regional retail computer stores selling directly to the public, schools and to the United States Government. Responsibilities included: training, corporate system analysis, and general sales, marketing and management skills.

Founded and operated a civil engineering, highway design and transportation analysis, hydrologic, engineering and surveying firm that provided a variety of site work, mapping and state of the art computer analysis, while developing the first P.C. CAD software available to the engineering field for coordinate geometry, earthwork, surveying, transportation analysis, and hydrologic computation.

I performed civil engineering, highway, and transportation engineering for a Fortune 500 Engineering firm. Director of blueprint and graphics art departments. My responsibilities included director and developer of first computer department including management, training, and custom software programming.

Ward Carpenter Engineers, White Plains, New York – July, 1976 to October, 1979 Land Surveyor – Performed land surveyor duties including both field and office. I directed and designed the first computer department integration which included custom programming of engineering software for the surveying industry.

General Cinema Corporation, Boston, Massachusetts – July, 1972 to July 1976 Special Operations Manager – I managed thirteen theaters, both indoors and drive-ins, including the largest cinematic theater in the U.S. I opened the world’s first multi-auditorium theater (see picture above), and first single auditorium conversion to multi-auditorium. I field tested the first use of Xenon bulbs as a replacement for the carbon arc.
